ABOUT
Why Third Infinity?
Research in physics advances in three broad
domains: The first and foremost, astronomy
and relativity, concerning the infinitely big;
quantum mechanics and particle physics,
dealing with the infinitely small; and the
domain of infinitely complex encompassing
the Physics of Biological and Complex Systems
(PBCS). The Third Infinity focuses on the third
infinite domain of science dealing from the
well-known chaotic double pendulum
problem to the understanding of life
processes at a quantitative and molecular
level.
Scope
Third Infinity aims to provide an
interdisciplinary platform for motivated
researchers, both young and experienced,
across the globe to exchange and foster the
scientific research concerning the Physics of
Biological and Complex Systems. It focuses to
expose the participants to the cutting-edge
advancements in the fields through the invited
talks given by elite speakers and active, person
to person interactions. Third Infinity also
looks forward to ardent students to present
and report their recent findings and
developments through student talks and
poster sessions.
In addition to informative and inspiring
scientific talks, Third Infinity will feature
panel discussions on present-day
challenges especially relevant to young
researchers in these fields. Overall, Third
Infinity aims to provide a platform for
scientific exchange between leading scientists
and young researchers from all over the world.
Career Input
Along with the opportunity to learn from and
network with leading researchers, Third
Infinity also aims to provide input to young
researchers in the fields of Biophysics,
Complex Systems and on their career in
science and beyond. Program to be
announced.
Theory-Simulation-Experiment
Unlike any other domain of research, the PBCS
is strongly represents a rare combination of
theory, simulations and experiments spanning
over the fields of physics, chemistry and life-
sciences. Third Infinity uniquely incorporates
all these perspectives by having international
speakers and students coming from different
backgrounds.
Third Infinity primarily focuses on the fields
of biomolecular structure and dynamics,
biological membranes, motor proteins,
structure and pattern formation in systems of
interacting cells (heart tissue), neuronal
information processing, hydrodynamics and
pattern formation of complex fluids, non-linear
dynamical systems, advanced microscopy
techniques and experimental biophysics.
Apply
PhD students and young researchers from
everywhere are invited to apply. Third infinity
will have poster sessions and student talks
where participants are encouraged to present
their ongoing work
